Yes seriously.

Lord knows I've considered this to the nth degree over many years. I've
even discussed it with education specialists in graduate forums, which is
more of a source of nerdy embarrassment than pride.

It is clear to all that linear ability modifications are more playable. It
is evident that diminishing returns from training and experience exists
outside the modification system. It is also clear that a linear system can
simulate Burch's stages of competence.

It is unanswerable and unclear why effects should vary according to base
ability and at the level of modification.

And when a proposition is challenged, I am told I'm being "thick".

It is under such circumstances that a discussion ends. The debate ceases
to be about the issue and is an attack on the person.

Don't ever do it again.
