Under advice from the healers, the rump Fellowship rested for a few days
at the ruins of Duck Tower, especially to ensure that Swordsinger was of
improved health. During that time, expeditions were taken into the swamp
by party to accumulate various healing herbs to aid in the process,
despite the grey clouds and rain.
It was in the evening of the fourth day, that Swordsinger announced that
he felt sufficiently recovered and how glorious it had been to be so close
to Saint Humact, and how confused he was that what he felt was still a
zombie had aided his healing. Others, including Akihi, still argue against
that assessment.
Yet on that night something very strange happened. Although the phase was
not time for the waning, the Red Moon - visible even here in the far east
- was not in Glorantha's sky. Many leagues away, The Third Eye of the
Sunstorm and the Reindeer Spirit also witnessed this strange and
unexpected event.
The following day, under the insistence of Azhur, the rump Fellowship left
the ruins of Duck Tower and sought to make the three day journey back to
the swamp's edge where they had left Rotterex in charge of Harajallenburg.
It was a dreary but uneventful journey, punctuated by debates between the
Dragonewts on whether the conclusion of on odious contract was appropriate
for transcendence. Azhur paid some attention just in case he found himself
in a similar legal situation, although the words of the Dragonewts were
more about spiritual advancement.
Late in the afternoon of the third day the party finally ventured on
ground that was less like mush, and on a higher and drier spot, the castle
Harajallenburg could be espied. Waiting nearby was the wizard Rotterex,
the Reindeer spirit and the glowing form of the Third Eye of the Sunstorm.
Time only existed for the most immediate introductions, before Rotterex
explained a small problem.
"Trollkin", he ventured. "Lots of them. They've taken over the entire
castle. I tried to stop them, but there was far too many. They were drunk,
very drunk, and, ahh, amorous. Something seems to have inspired them to
new levels of initiative, and I'm not entirely sure I like it."
